I am Sahil Jhawar and I recently graduated from University of Potsdam with a Master’s in Astrophysics. For my thesis, I worked on multi messenger astronomy (mostly optical counterpart) of BNS and bayesian inference and statistics.

Currently, I am working as a Research Scientist/Research Software Engineer in the Space Physics and Space Weather section at GFZ Helmholtz Centre for Geosciences Potsdam. I work on SWVO and EL-PASO, open source Python tools for space weather data and satellite particle observations. I am also working on the FLAG project (Forecasts and Long-term probabilistic data Assimilative prediction of the effects of Geomagnetic storms), which aims to provide early warnings of geomagnetic storm effects for satellite operators. Previously I was a student assistant at the Leibniz-Institut für Astrophysik Potsdam (AIP) in the Project Management group. Here, I was working on the 4MOST project.
